Karl is an Irish microscopist, scientific photographer and science artist based in Dublin. Through Art of Science Photography, he explores structures normally invisible to the human eye, from microorganisms and biological specimens to crystallized pharmaceuticals and complex chemical systems. Our collaboration brings together two complementary approaches: Helnium works from the chemistry itself selecting, synthesizing and crystallizing molecules while Karl contributes his expertise in microscopy, optical experimentation and high-resolution scientific imaging. Together, we explore how chemistry and advanced imaging can reveal molecular structures with both scientific integrity and visual impact.
