Winter Neck Gaiter: Iceland | Copper Sulfate Crystals

CHF 25.00

Inspired by Iceland's glaciers, this design was created from real copper sulfate crystals grown and photographed under polarized light microscopy. Copper sulfate is well known for forming intensely blue crystals. Under polarized microscopy, its crystalline architecture reveals a remarkable network of geometric structures, where every shade of blue results from the interaction between polarized light and the crystal itself. When I first observed these crystals, they immediately reminded me of Iceland. The deep blue tones, the fractured crystalline surfaces, and the way light seems to emerge from within the structure all echoed the feeling of standing inside a glacier or an ice cave. Rather than simply printing a microscopy image onto fabric, I carefully reinterpreted the original crystal architecture into a wearable composition. The goal was to preserve the scientific authenticity of the crystal while creating a design that captures the atmosphere of Iceland's frozen landscapes. For me, chemistry and nature speak the same language. The microscopic architecture of a crystal can evoke the same sense of wonder as a glacier shaped over thousands of years. This neck gaiter is an invitation to discover that connection.

Designed to keep your face and neck warm despite the forecast, these winter neck gaiters are made with a heavyweight, fleece-like fabric (90% Polyester-10% Spandex). Use the drawstring to find the perfect fit, and enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, or any winter activity with custom style and ample warmth.
